The
Lyre player enters, reluctant to go into the chamber knowing of her impending
death. She looks for help, fighting to escape, searching for an exit somewhere.
She refuses to die, accepting and denying her fate She searches again for
a space, an exit in the walls. She doesn’t want to die, and reaches out for
help, Reaching further out seeking anyone who will help, Pleading to the
sky. The music gives her a sense of calm She finds hope and courage, as
the internal conflict takes over, wishing to escape, but wanting to complete
her destiny, She resigns herself to her fate - death. As the narcotic
takes effect, she forsees the spiritual life. Going to sleep and preparing
to die, she offers her spirit to the gods. Returning to the Lyre to die, serenely
playing the last notes, she embraces death; ending as she enters the afterlife,
with a smile |
